A public, research-intensive university founded in 1949, UNSW ranks as Australia’s finest university on a number of measures, including for the fields of Mathematics, Engineering and Technology, for the the median ATAR of its Medical School students, and for the fact that it produces more millionaire graduates than any other Australian university. Its sprawling main campus can be found in Kensington, 7km from the Sydney CBD, while a secondary campus, UNSW Canberra at ADFA, is Australia’s only education institution with a defence focus. Prime minister Scott Morrison, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and science communicator Dr Karl Kruszelnicki are amongst UNSW’s more notable alumni.
