An esteemed institution that was established way back in 1874, making it Australia’s third-oldest, the University of Adelaide can be found in the city centre, surrounded by the South Australian Museum, the Art Gallery of South Australia and the State Library of South Australia. Having an association with no fewer than one third of Australia’s Nobel Laureates, and contributing to development of penicillin, sunscreen, Wi-Fi and space exploration, it’s little wonder this university is amongst Australia’s most sought-after for students. It also attracts wine buffs, as the University of Adelaide operates the National Wine Centre.
