When four catholic colleges amalgamated in 1991, they formed what was then known as the Catholic College of Education. Now going by ACU, this uni is headquartered in North Sydney, but boasts campuses spread across Australia, and even one in Rome. It focuses on four main areas of study – Education and Arts, Health Sciences, Law and Business, and Theology and Philosophy, the last of which unsurprisingly has a religious slant. Studies aside, students enjoy such extracurricular activities as the ACU Games, a national sporting event, and ACU Wired, a nationally broadcast radio station that is operated as a joint venture between students and staff.
