When it was founded in 1989, Bond became Australia’s first private not-for-profit university. Based on the Gold Coast, it is one of businessman Alan Bond’s more praiseworthy legacies. There are perks to being a boutique university, with Bond known for the high satisfaction rating it receives from its students. It has four faculties that support both research and teaching activities: Business, Law, Health Sciences and Medicine, and Society and Design. Bond University has also developed a reputation for sporting prowess, named Australian University Sport Per Capita Champions at the Australian University Games five times between 2011 and 2017.
