The first conversations around a Sunshine Coast university began in 1973, but it would only be in 1994 that an institution would be established. Headquartered in Sippy Downs, the University of the Sunshine Coast has more than made up for lost time. While it’s certainly not the biggest, oldest or most renowned university in Australia, USC punches well above its weight on many fronts – in the 2020 Student Experience Survey, for example, USC was ranked within the top five universities in Australia for teaching quality, and in the top six for the experience of the approximately 20,000 students who study there.
