What you'll do:
- Design, develop and test new Java micro-service applications using container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Build applications that are maintainable and scale predictably.
- Utilise pair-programming regularly and mentor junior developers.
- Continuously improve yourself through in-house training sessions e.g. training workshops, proof of concept overviews, lightning talks.
- Maintain and contribute to software delivery principles and guidelines based on internal Sky standards and industry best-practice.
- Strive to continuously improve our systems and ways of working.
What you'll bring:
- Experience in Java Development Experience in working with APIs and understanding REST principles.
- A passion for agile methodologies and software engineering concepts e.g. XP, Scrum, Pair Programming, TDD, BDD.
- Familiarity with configuration and build tools such as Jenkins, Gradle, Maven.
- Understanding of standard monitoring and logging practices
- Knowledge of design patterns and SOLID principles.

The OVP team works closely with our Client, Identity and Sales and Service teams to help provide a seamless backend experience for our customers. For our portfolio of streaming products like NOW, Peacock and Sky Showtime we’re the problem solvers who find smarter and simpler ways to connect customers to more of what they love.

Osterley:
Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There’s also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
