JobDescription:
TheCommunications Officer is responsible to the Manager,Communications for delivering responsive and effective marketingservices and projects, which support increased stakeholderawareness of the department and its initiatives. The rolecontributes to the development, implementation and evaluation ofmarketing campaigns, communications strategies, brandingstrategies, communication bulletins and promotional activities, andprovides advice and facilitation services to schools, preschools,and other Department for Education services to support logodevelopment and relevant approval processes.
TheCommunications Officer is also responsible for providing timely andaccurate advice, information and responses to queries, issues, orcorrespondence on a range of marketing-related matters andcontributing to the effective organisation, operation and deliveryof the directorate’s programs, strategies andobjectives.
The roleworks within a team assigned to provide communications andmarketing services and functions including internal communicationsand creative services. Within this context the position needs todemonstrate a high level of responsiveness, flexibility,resilience, and customer focused service that meets the fluidityand diversity of the audience and constantly changingpriorities.
Qualifications:
Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in communications, marketing, publicrelations or related discipline and/or relevant experience in theseareas.
SpecialConditions:
Thesuccessful applicant is required to gain a Department for HumanServices (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to beingemployed which is required to be renewed every five years beforeexpiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN–EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect -Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course orthe online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to beupdated every three years.
