JOB DESCRIPTION

Peppers Silo Hotel is an inspiring $30 million redevelopment of the Kings Wharf grain silos in Launceston, Tasmania. The nine storey hotel consists of 108 rooms, including 52 in the barrels of the former silos, and overlooks the nearby tourist drawcards of Seaport, Royal Park, the Tamar River Basin and Cataract Gorge. A vibrant level 1 houses a 200 seat restaurant, café, cocktail bar, lounge and a number of meeting rooms.

We are currently looking for a passionate and meticulous Conference & Events Supervisor to join our dedicated team.

As our next Conference & Events Supervisor, you will: 
• Generate, grow, and manage new and existing business for the hotel
• You will manage relationships across a broad range of stakeholders and business partners
• Lease with clients in the lead up to, during and following their special event
• Provide sales analysis and reports, lead famils’ and site inspections, sales blitzes, networking events, presentations, product updates and tradeshows when required
• Be responsible for creating a professional impression as an ambassador for the hotel at all times will be of utmost importance
• Continuously solve and respond to issues surrounding the event at hand in order to make the day as perfect as it can be
• Manage and facilitate event activities 

What we are looking for:
• Someone with prior event coordination experience who is looking to take the next step in taking more leadership in their role
• A strong a marketing and strategic focus for a variety of events, gatherings, birthdays, and weddings
• A passionate conference and events professional, with a sustained track record in sales, outstanding interpersonal and communication style
• Someone with the possession of extraordinary time management skills and the ability to work under pressure, manage budgets, and drive revenue whilst having the capability to coach, lead and develop a team
• Someone who holds strong experience as a conference and events administrator with operational conference and events experience
• Excellent communication and relationship building abilities
• The ability to work a varied roster including weekends and evenings
