Job Description: Maintenance/Groundskeeper ES1-2
The Maintenance/Groundskeeper role encompasses the following tasks –
An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialised student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.

Milgate’s Learning community is underpinned by strong school community partnerships. The current enrolment is 827 students with several fee paying students. There are specialist programs in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Mandarin and EAL. The school also offers an instrumental music program. There is a 1-1 iPad program for students in Years 3 – 6. To actively support the curriculum, enrichment programs are provided such as: swimming, house system, buddy program, extensive camping program, excursions, Junior School Council, leadership programs, perceptual motor program, interschool and state wide sporting events. The cohesive relationships within our school community celebrate the multi cultural diversity and demonstrate the values we, as a society, attest to. Parents are actively involved in the provision of our classroom programs including specialist programs, coaching in sporting programs, School Council, attending camps and excursions, fundraising and working bees. Student, staff and parent contributions are recognized, valued and essential to the success of our school.
The Milgate Primary School Council performs an integral role in the core business of learning within the school. Sub-committees report monthly to Council and are representative of the community.
