About the person:

Reporting to the Technology Network Manager, the Senior Technology Network Engineer will deliver senior technical expertise, proactive management and optimisation of SA Water’s IT data network and communications assets that meet business needs in support of delivering world class services to our customers.

As the successful candidate you will be an expert analytical thinker with problem solving skills in a technology environment. With proven experience establishing constructive and positive working relationships with the proficiency to influence and lead a team. In addition, knowledge managing and providing network administration and support within a utility environment would be an advantage.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role:

Senior functional and technical SME for network assets and applications managed.

Process incidents, service requests, problems and change work in accordance with SLAs and project commitments.

Mentor other team members and act as a Level 3 escalation point for complex network issues that are unable to be resolved.

Coordinate the implementation of new business solutions with customers and internal stakeholders.

Performance Manage vendors in accordance with contractual SLAs.

Work with the business to identify, develop and implement strategies for improvements to network assets, applications and processes.

Maintain on call roster position (monthly requirement)

Your success in this role will come from:

Ability to communicate effectively to establish constructive and positive working/customer relationships

Expert analytical, conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills within a technology environment

Experience in influencing and leading technology teams

Knowledge and experience of managing and providing network administration and support using industry standard processes e.g. ITIL within a corporate environment

Knowledge and experiencing leading the support and delivery of network technologies such as:

Routing, Switching and Wireless

Firewalls

Load Balancing

Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
