About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to join our team. As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security of network infrastructure. You will work closely with our network and other IT teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data and systems.
Accountabilities include
Design, implement, and maintain network security solutions, such as firewall, VPN, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Monitor network security systems for potential threats and vulnerabilities. Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards. Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments. Research and recommend new security technologies and solutions. Respond to security incidents and breaches. Keep up-to-date with the latest security trends and threats. Manage Incidents and Requests utilising multiple tools and services with the focus to provide positive outcomes for the customer. Actively work with key stakeholders (internal and external) to continually assess and improve the cyber security capability and maturity in the operational technology environment. Enhance existing detection strategies and response plans for current and future threats Act as an escalation point for Security incidents Experience needed
Minimum 3 years experience in network security. Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP. Experience with firewall, VPN, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Knowledge of security standards and best practice, such as ISO 27000, NIST. Essential 8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with security incident response and forensic analysis. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Understanding of SSL and certificate services. Desirables
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Understanding of Command line driven operating systems highly desirable. CCNA Security, CCNP Security, or other related certifications are a plus. Familiarity with programming and scripting languages, such as Python or Perl, for automating security tasks Previous exposure with Security related products (e.g. IDS/IPS, SIEM, etc.) is highly desirable.
