This is a superb opportunity to join the Technology Products team that provides simple, self-service access to our Cloud Foundry platform. Your customers will be other Sky teams developing and publishing critically important internal and customer-facing applications. You’ll join a dedicated, ambitious, forwarding-think and diverse team where the focus is on building modern, scalable automated platforms with security and reliability-built in.

What you'll do

• Accelerate a “shift left” mentality to deliver a library of automated, self-service capabilities that empower developers across all areas of Sky’s business.

• Continuous development of OSS Cloud Foundry platform as an internal product used by teams across Sky.

• Continuous development of OSS persistence technologies; Galera MySQL, PostgresDB, MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ with built-in self-service capabilities

• Improve and extend the DevOps relationships with multiple teams across Sky technology, learning more about their requirements, future strategy to resolve how to best serve their needs proactively!

• Evangelise the use of cloud platforms and DevOps/SRE practices, sharing knowledge and standard methodology.

• Evaluate industry brand-new tools and techniques for DevOps/SRE to ensure our cloud platforms deliver the best possible experience to the userbase whilst remaining operationally efficient at scale.

What you'll bring

• Linux admin & Bash scripting experiences.

• Experience with some IAC/Automation tools such as Ansible, puppet, terraform or ideally BOSH.

• Knowledge of Database Administration of SQL and no-SQL databases such as MongoDB, MySQL or PostresDB.

• Familiarity with enterprise incident, problem, change and release management.

• Passion for emerging open-source technologies and solving challenges.

• Consistent track record of automation using modern software development tools and techniques.

• Experience deploying applications to Cloud Foundry or another PAAS, ideally experience administering or deploying the platform.

Osterley

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.

On campus, you’ll find 13 subsidised restaurants, cafes, and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed, and even get pampered at our beauty salon.

Leeds

Our spacious tech hub is less than a mile from Leeds train station. There’s plenty of parking in the surrounding streets and at the nearby CitiPark.

Need a break? You can blow off steam over a game of pool or table tennis, and stay fit at our subsidised gym.

Livingston Watermark House

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

You’ll be well fed at our subsidised canteen, and you can keep in shape at our onsite gym – or play a game of pool or table tennis.

Brick Lane

Brick Lane is in the heart of the East End of London. It's part of a vibrant and diverse community; close to street food, cafes and shops. The closest tube station is Aldgate East and Liverpool Street is about a 10-minute walk.
