This opportunity

As a Billing Applications Developer, you will be a key member of the Billing team accountable for solution engineering, design, implementation, operations and system ownership of Billing System and Billing solutions driving project and operational excellence. You will ensure a close working relationship with your business stakeholders and relevant vendors. This includes all Billing systems across Mobile and Fixed Consumer, Corporate, Wholesale, IOT, Business Call Answering and Bulk messaging. This role will report into the Billing Manager and be based in our North Sydney Head Office.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, update and implement system and application changes for Billing systems
  • Act as design authority, develop, review, update and approve high level and low-level design documentation for Billing systems
  • Execute and support testing (System integration testing, User Acceptance Testing and Production Verification Testing)
  • You will work with 3rd party vendors during project execution to govern and ensure quality of work as per defined solution deliverables and service scope. You will be required to have in-depth understanding on how business and technical requirements translate to project artefacts such as Solution Proposals, Designs, Test Plans, Implementation Plans and the like to ensure deliverables are achieved at very high standards
  • Participate and coordinate changes within the billing environments as a result of new projects, releases and fixes. This includes support developing and documenting business requirements, performing release implementation support and verification testing as required.
  • Continuous improvement. Identify system limitations with billing systems and related systems, raise these initiatives and manage from Business requirements through to implementation
  • Identify areas where billing integrity and system issues have been compromised. Ensure these issues are lead, prioritised and co-ordinate actions to rectify problems in a timely manner by working with other business areas and outsource partners.
  • Ensure customer issues are resolved promptly, and appropriate communication is supplied to customers and customer-facing departments on the issues, cause and issue resolution.
  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly reporting and analysis as required.
  • The ability to work out of hours to meet bill cycle and incident management demand.
  • Comply to audit and regulatory standards set by TPG Telecom and industry.
  • Required to be on-call after hours (team roster).
  • Knowledge and experience

  • At least 5 years working in Mobile Telecommunications Industry
  • Minimum 5 years applied experience in solutions and development for Business Support Systems and Operational Support Systems
  • Knowledge of working with Java, Shell scripting, Perl scripting, web services and PL/SQL 
  • Building highly available, scalable and resilient platforms
  • Worked with Splunk or similar log analyser
  • Be familiar with ITSM/SRM/CMDB tools like Jira Service Management or BMC Helix
  • Demonstrated experience with Telco billing system including rating, invoice, invoice delivery methods and financial reporting.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in customer and system issue resolution.
  • Billing system experience with Oracle BRM (Intranet) highly desirable but not essential
  • Understanding of customer lifecycle and it’s affect on billing and invoice delivery and payments.
  • Proven analysis and interpretation of high volume data.
