Hitachi Rail has exciting opportunity for a Software Tester/Integrator to join us working in a dynamic team of Traffic Management System V&V Engineers based in our Rivervale office, WA.

The suitable candidate will have experience in or knowledge of software intensive systems testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices and safety critical techniques, based on international standards, with a strong desire to improve software quality and test efficiency.

Accountabilities will include but not limited to:

Guarantee an effective and efficient preparation and execution of Factory and Site Tests to verify and validate against the system requirements, system architecture, interfaces and operating scenarios.

Increase and consistently improve the automation of software testing supporting a continuous integration environment.

Support the coordination of systems requirements management activities;

Support the definition of the overall system architecture;

Support that subsystem interfaces are clearly identified, defined, documented, agreed and managed;

Contribute to the issuing of the test and integration plans and ensure the integration activities implementation by a strict monitoring of the project’s activities and indicators;

Contribute to the maintenance of a list of project issues, making sure that this list is discussed and agreed with the Project Engineer and the Project Manager;

support the definition of T&C (Testing and Commissioning) activities supported by the main WP (Work Package) Leaders;

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer or Software Engineering or Information Technology

Rail Industry Worker card and competencies (current or eligible to obtain)

Skills & Experience:

At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the rail signalling field

Demonstrable aptitude for automated testing of an integrated systems

Good logical reasoning and problem investigation/solving skills

Good written and oral communication skills

Demonstrable aptitude for manual and automated testing of an integrated system.

Knowledge of software standards, particularly EN 50128 is highly regarded
