No one else does exactly what we do in the way we do it. Ventia are currently seeking an experienced Trade Cooks for their Defence Base Services Contract in Darwin, Northern Territory to support up coming exercises. This role is a rotating 7 day roster and will include some weekend work as well as covering busy breakfast, lunch and dinner service as well as some functions over peak periods. RESPONSIBILITIES Preventive management of food safety hazards through the systematic application of HACCP controls. Operate large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and barbeques. Train all food production personnel in Broadspectrum’s procedures and methods relating to food preparation and presentation, including those specific to religious meal service, such as Kosher and Halal. Build strong working relationships with performance and compliance team, ensuring efficient management of Health, Safety and the Environment (HSE), Food Safety and HACCP, and Contract compliance Ensure all areas of the kitchen are clean, sanitised, well-maintained and presentable. Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by the Food & Beverage Manager. Carry out all work activities upholding the Company values of Integrity, Ingenuity, Collaboration & Challenge Positively contribute to a diverse, inclusive and fair work environment, free from discrimination and harassment Carry out all duties in line with Company policies & procedures as amended from time to time POSITION REQUIREMENTS Australian recognised Commercial Cookery qualification. HACCP Level 3 certification preffered Solid understanding of contract management, quality management systems and continuous improvement principles. Sound knowledge of Food Safety Standards, relevant legislation and statutory obligations. Enthusiasm and commitment to high standards of customer service. Strong planning and organisation skills and proven experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level. Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
