The Opportunity This maternity leave opportunity requires a technically capable, quality focussed person to lead the site’s implementation, enforcement and review of the quality specifications, data and compliance standards. Reporting to the National QA Manager, duties and responsibilities of the role will include: Conduct daily pre-operational hygiene inspections and assessments of all production staff engaged in the food processing operations.Control validation of products and micro testing of product shelf life.Ensure that Samples for Microbiological Testing are collected and analysed according to Regulatory Requirements.Report and implement the necessary corrective actions that are required for any detected non-conformances, and regularly review as required.Maintain the Food Safety and Quality Assurance System to ensure the delivery of a quality, wholesome and compliant product.Review Incident Reports and Customer Complaints involving food safety and product quality and ensure prompt closure is affected.Maintain required quality certification including HACCP, BRC, GMP and others as required.Lead the quality systems culture and foster and encourage the team to contribute to the highest standards of quality and continuous improvement.Oversee, audit and report on the Food Safety and Quality System and associated corrective actions.Ensure the successful operation of the business and it’s achievement of compliance, policy standards, targets, budgets and contractual obligations in so far as they are affected by QA.Support, facilitate and complete Audit projects as directed.Develop strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Key Requirements Previous QA experience within the food industry;Knowledge of and practical experience with internal auditing;Exposure to quality and food safety standards in the meat industry (desirable);Excellent communication skills.
