Your responsibilities in this role will require you to: Perform water and waste water microbial analysis in a NATA accredited commercial laboratory in accordance with prescribed Standard Methods.Maintenance and calibration of equipment in compliance with National Accreditation guidelines (ISO/IEC 17025).Assist the supervisor in training activities within the Microbiology laboratory team.Be responsible for the timely analysis of samples to meet customer demands and designated reporting turn-around-times.Issue NATA endorsed laboratory reports using the QLIMS database.Participation in and performance of, internal quality audits, including technical audits and safety audits.Maintenance of reference cultures and performing media preparation quality control.Contribute to the development and validation of new procedures and methodology.Assist in daily housekeeping duties. About You The successful candidate will be a dynamic, degree-qualified professional with extensive knowledge and experience from working in a commercial NATA accredited Microbiology laboratory servicing Water and Waste Water customers. You will enjoy working in a challenging work environment. You will have an appreciation of the long-term goals of the organisation and Council’s Values. You will have detailed knowledge of program activities and work practices relevant to the work area and the legislative requirements relative to the water industry, with extensive knowledge of NATA requirements to comply with ISO/IEC 17025.
