The Oval, a world-class, multi-purpose 53-thousand seat stadium is Adelaide’s number one tourism destination attracting over 1.8 million visitors each year and is a significant contributor to the State’s tourism assets with the award winning RoofClimb and Stadium tours. AOSMA employs approximately 180 full-time staff, plus 1,500 casual employees, in roles including operations, customer service, chefs, cooks, supervisors, baristas, bar and functions staff and stores attendants, making Adelaide Oval one of the state’s largest employers in the hospitality and tourism sectors.As well as managing a busy function and event business at Adelaide Oval, AOSMA also oversees a number of additional venues including, Oval Hotel, Ukaria Cultural Centre, Monarto Zoo, Koffee Ink, (A)Lure and, the Malt Shovel Taphouse.Full Time Pastry Chef PositionsThis is the time to join the new Pastry team being forged at Adelaide Oval.Rare opportunity for a passionate and innovative Head Chef to lead and build your own Pastry Team and make your dreams crumb true at Adelaide Oval.Also an opportunity for a Pastry Sous Chef is available for those passionate about pastry and enjoy working across a wide variety of cuisines – Do you have what it bakes to join the robust Adelaide Oval Pastry Kitchen?Adelaide Oval Pastry KitchenThe Pastry Kitchen integrates across all departments as one of the core pillars of Adelaide Oval Kitchens. Within a large-scale, modern kitchen, offering a range of new equipment and innovative design, the Pastry team have the unique opportunity to gain exposure across the range of cuisines and food services of Adelaide Oval, including but not limited to: Kiosk to CaféA la carte to fine dining restaurantsHotel room serviceVenue Hospitality and banqueting from private functions to major concerts and eventsExternal catering contracts The Pastry Kitchen creates world class desserts in a world class venue.Head Chef of Pastry Take ownership of the Pastry Department within the Adelaide Oval Kitchens.Collaborate with the Director of Cuisine and Executive Chefs as key part of their Senior Kitchen Brigade, including the preparation of annual business plans.Create new and innovative menus to generate revenue and meet patron expectations, with the support of the Senior Kitchen Brigade.Contribute to the procurement of best available product(s) at competitive pricing, in consultation with other Kitchen departments, to achieve short and long term business objectives.Mentoring, training and development of the Pastry team, from apprentices through to Sous Chefs.Implementation and maintenance of all HACCP programs as applicable.Representing the Venue Hospitality division of AOSMA as required both internally and externally.Compliance with business rules (WHS, RSA, HACCP) Sous Chef of Pastry Join a robust Pastry team, building skills and gaining exposure across a wide range of cuisines and food services.Opportunity for professional development with the support of the Head Chef of Pastry as well as the wider kitchen network overseen by the Director of Cuisine and Executive Chefs.Providing operational and hands on support to the Kitchen Brigade.Representing the Venue Hospitality division of AOSMA as required both internally and externally.Compliance with business rules (WHS, RSA, HACCP) To be successful in Adelaide Oval’s Pastry Kitchen, you will have: Relevant qualifications in Patisserie or an equivalent trade qualification.Appetite for a varied and dynamic environment.Thrive in diversity with scope to strengthen skill across a variety of cuisines and services.Extensive industry experience.Experience working as a Head Chef Pastry, Sous Chef Pastry or senior Pastry Chef in an equivalent business. Out of hours work is a requirement of this role, in line with the business operations of Adelaide Oval.
