Systems Engineer – Digital Transformation

Caltrol is Hiring a Systems Engineer – Digital Transformation for Caltrol’s Territory!We are recruiting for a Plantweb Software Specialist, to join the Digital Solutions team, reporting to the Digital Transformation Manager, Process Solutions. The successful candidate will bring entrepreneurial work ethic and passion to grow in our dynamic new team. You will work directly with our Customers, within other Caltrol Business Units (BUs), and the Digital Transformation Business Group to provide exceptional customer service. You will install and complete the data connectivity of existing software platforms from Emerson and other Caltrol (not limited to Emerson’s Plantweb suite of software) when deployed for customer use and/or customer data. You will also be working with Digital Solutions software applications Plantweb Optics Data Lake/Inmation and visualizations tools to help deliver integrated data management solutions for our customers. You will engage with our customers for the entire lifecycle process of those applications, supporting sales efforts through software implementation, and becoming a BU Subject Matter Experts for final customer configuration, as well as lifecycle care/upgrades of those applications. This position is open in California or Arizona. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ownership of installation, data connectivity and system integration of the software applications; responsible to deploy Test existing software applications both for On-Premise, Virtual and Cloud-based deployment. Training on new software applications based on customer demand; or self-paced/self-taught as well as on a formalized basis Responsible for providing technical implementation, support and troubleshooting for systems on-site and remotely Provide telephone, remote and/or on-site software support for existing customers and Caltrol groups Participate and contribute in client and internal meetings (both in person, virtually, remote) Work with Customer IT, Networking Engineers, to Architect Network Layouts and assist with the creation of documentation for client use Train customers on software systems through effective communication, demonstration, and formal instruction Communicate with the Digital Solutions team, sales, and Project Managers during the various phases of projects and lifecycle care Work collaboratively with the Digital Solutions team to continually improve internal processes Assist in Requirements Gathering during the various phases of project scoping and implementation Maintain strict protection and confidentiality of client data Support Software as a Service (SaaS) Business Applications as developed and deployed Test, troubleshoot, debug as required. Communicate back to Caltrol, Emerson and other software suppliers as required Ensure all incidents are responded to and resolved in accordance with established standards and agreements. Communicate potential revenue generating opportunities brought to your attention while interacting with customers such as system enhancements and software upgrades Maintain current knowledge of Caltrol family of products, solutions, software, application functionality and the high-level architecture Support Caltrol develop and test environment as well as respective Plantweb Room / Demo system supports Work with the sales team members to outline costs and estimated completion timelines Participate in 24×7 on call responsibilities MARGINAL FUNCTIONS Business acumen in a technical environment Actively participate in technical project team works independently and is able to guide others Ability to contribute and support multiple MES projects simultaneously MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelors Degree in Computer, Digital, Information Technology or equivalent Software development skills in programming, analysis, design, methodology, and architecture Experience in industrial software services functions Strong knowledge and understanding of OT and/or IT applications Fluent in On Prem infrastructure, such as dedicated hardware, virtual machines, switches and firewalls. Knowledge and Experience using Cloud infrastructure is an asset. Experience with Windows Operating Systems (Linux an asset) Experience with SQL, TCP, OPC, Modbus, HART-IP (JSON, MQTT an asset also) Experience with Cloud Platforms such as Microsoft Azure and Power BI, an asset Experience with programming and scripting (specifically LUA), an asset Experience with Historians, Analytics and Visualization Applications, an asset Quality and detail oriented with an eye on the ‘big picture’ Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills Excellent troubleshooting abilities; technically curious Strong organizational, time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize Valid driver’s license; ability and willingness to travel throughout Caltrol’s territory QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED Exposure to enterprise level large-scale applications Experience in the biological sciences, biotechnology and/or biomechanical engineering QUALITIES AND ATTRIBUTES Ability to work independently.
