Then apply now to join the amazing team at Darwin Harbour Cruises!We are currently seeking a motivated and passionate Chef to join our team on a casual basis becoming an ambassador of the incredible experiences we bring to life at Darwin Harbour Cruises.This role is responsible for creating memorable guest experiences through the high-quality preparation and presentation of the on-board dining experience. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Oversight and production of all meals and function requirements, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction; Successfully operate the kitchen whilst maximizing business growth through the delivery of food service needs; Maintain and exceed standards of service and operating standards, ensuring maximum guest experience; Preparation and service of all sections in a kitchen; Manage, monitor and control stock, inventory and ordering of food; Monitor and maintain compliance records in relation to all aspects including HSE, Food Safety and HCCP; Overseeing hygiene, cleanliness and general safety of all staff working in food preparation areas; Staff mentoring, training, rostering and day-to-day guidance/direction of all kitchen staff; Menu planning and creation of daily specials; and Effectively communicate to a range of people including guests, suppliers, managers and staff. About YouThe ideal candidate will be passionate and proud of the food and service that you deliver and be willing to go above and beyond for our guests, motivated to create ongoing memorable and unique guest experiences. You will be a team player with a demonstrated positive “can-do” attitude, be comfortable working on water, have previous a fine-dining cookery experience and ability to deliver professional customer service.Requirements Minimum of 2-years’ experience in a similar role, with previous a la carte and buffet experience essential Hold a minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery qualification Have the necessary working entitlements to work in Australia with a minimum 6 month commitment Highly self-motivated, with great energy – A real multi-tasker Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and part of a team with strong leadership ability Great attention to detail and time management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate to various stakeholders Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills Able to work flexible hours including weekends and extended hours
