With a shared “connected, sustainable and creative” vision, residents, businesses and government are united in realising a contemporary regional ecosystem; empowered by exceptional assets, bold people, and future-ready practices.An exciting opportunity exists for the right person to join our friendly team at the Bellingen Shire Council as the Volunteer and Visitor Information Centre Coordinator in a part-time capacity, fixed term 2 years.The primary purpose of the Volunteer and Visitor Information Centre Coordinator is to promote and coordinate volunteer participation and activities across the Shire and coordinate the provision of professional visitor information and advisory services in order to showcase the region to tourists.To be successful in this role, you need to meet the following as a minimum:Two to four years experience in the tourism industry, marketing or business development.Knowledge of Bellingen Shire and the Coffs Coast, its destinations and attractions and appreciation of the neighbouring regionsProven experience in managing and coordinating the work of others on a day to day basis including rostering, allocating tasks and dutiesWell-developed interpersonal and customer service skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated problem-solving ability and sound judgementCompetent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the use of social mediaProven retail sales skills, including product placement, cash handling, reconciliation of daily receipts and daily bankingDemonstrated planning and organisational skillsPrevious experience coordinating and managing volunteers is highly desirableHourly rate of $29.3371 to $33.8829 plus super and leave accruals.
