    • John Fawkner Private Hospital are looking for a passionate and dedicated Registered Nurse with 3+ years scrub/scout experience in the field of Neurosurgery to join our friendly and innovative Peri-operative team. Types of surgeries include: laminectomy and microdisectomy procedures, spinal fusions, evacuation of subdural haematomas and removal of brain tumours.     Full Time or Part Time positions available

    Key attributes and responsibilities:

  • Provide high quality care that meet current best practice standards
  • Highly competent scrub/scout in a range of spinal and cranial neurosurgical procedures
  • Work closely with ANUM and other staff to ensure delivery of high quality care, efficiency of services and to develop a strong working relationship with the surgeons
  • Ability to co-ordinate and manage surgical lists
  • Knowledge of current ACORN standards and relevant legislation
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
  • Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
  • Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Participation in a rotating seven day roster, including on-call (days negotiable)

    • John Fawkner Private Hospital has a long and dedicated history of providing high quality healthcare. Located in the north-west of Melbourne, our hospital comprises 186 registered beds, a twelve-cubicle Emergency Department, a Critical Care Unit, Day Procdure Unit and five refurbished operating theatres with state of the art equipment.

  • Neurosurgery (Cranial/Spine)
  • Orthopaedics
  • General Surgery (Major & Minor)
  • Plastic Surgery
  • ENT and Ophthalmic Surgery
  • Gynaecology and Urology
  • Gastroenterology

    • Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Working with Children check 
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National Standards
  • Proven experience within a similar role and specialty
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Shift work and on call duties compulsory
