Job Description
About the Role:
Are you a marketing student with a passion for digital content creation, video production, and social media? We are looking for a creative and motivated individual to assist in launching and managing a new YouTube channel for an advocate with lived experience of a disability. This temporary position is perfect for a student seeking hands-on experience in digital marketing, content strategy, and brand building while working on an exciting project in Melbourne's vibrant food scene.
You will play a key role in supporting the channel's host by organizing interviews with local chefs, assisting with on-site filming, and handling post-production tasks remotely. Your responsibilities will include video editing, optimizing content for YouTube, and managing uploads, helping to create engaging videos that promote inclusivity and highlight Melbourne’s diverse culinary landscape.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Planning and Coordination: Work closely with the host to develop a content calendar and coordinate interviews with local chefs, cooks, and restaurant owners.
On-Site Filming Support: Assist with setting up filming equipment, managing sound and lighting, and capturing high-quality footage that aligns with the channel’s goals.
Remote Video Editing: Edit videos remotely, transforming raw footage into polished, engaging content that resonates with viewers.
YouTube Optimization and SEO: Conduct keyword research, create eye-catching thumbnails, and write compelling titles, descriptions, and tags to maximize video reach and engagement.
Channel Management: Oversee the technical aspects of uploading videos and managing the channel’s content library, ensuring all videos are properly formatted and organized.
Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Track key performance metrics, analyze audience engagement, and provide insights for continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
Marketing or Digital Media Student: Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field.
Experience in Video Production: Basic experience in filming and video editing (knowledge of software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar is a plus).
Understanding of YouTube and Social Media: Familiarity with YouTube trends, SEO, and audience growth strategies.
Strong Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, coordinate schedules, and keep projects on track.
Creative and Collaborative: A proactive thinker with a knack for storytelling and a collaborative approach to content creation.
Adaptable and Self-Motivated: Comfortable working independently, both on-site for filming and remotely for editing and content management.
Why This Role is Perfect for Students:
Flexible Work Hours: Balance your studies with a part-time role that offers flexible hours and remote work options.
Real-World Marketing Experience: Gain hands-on experience in digital content creation, social media strategy, and video marketing.
Opportunity to Make an Impact: Be part of a project that promotes inclusivity and raises awareness around accessibility within Melbourne's food culture.
Expand Your Portfolio: Create diverse content and add valuable experience to your portfolio, showcasing your skills to future employers.
