Lead Software Engineer (network)

Our Cloud Automation Network team is looking to appoint a Lead Software Engineer to support the ongoing process of automating existing environment and building new world class network solutions for the business.

Do work that matters: 

• Work with Engineers, Business Analysts and Project Managers on solution designs for Network services 

• Provide engineering and design leadership for engineers and team members 

• Discovery and validation of network connectivity requirements using enterprise tools such as Algosec, vRealise Network Insight, Splunk, Azure VSTS, and AWS VPC flow logs, R53, Cloud redirect and Cloudfront, SolarWinds, Qualys, and Infoblox. 

• Work with project teams to understand network connectivity between VMware, Windows, and Linux end-points. 

• Integrating to public cloud infrastructure such as AWS and Azure, and hybrid cloud network integration. 

• Ensure all services within the IT service portfolio are managed with consideration to network, capacity, platform, sociability/scalability factors and target architecture 

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess the following: 

• Programming experience doing full-stack development, including frontend, backend, and strong expertise in at least one or more modern language such as Java/C#, C/C++, or python including object-oriented design

• Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers

• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations

• Hands-on expertise in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between

• Experience in driving systemic operational improvements

• Experience mentoring junior software engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers

• Experience influencing software engineers best practices within your team

• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
