About the Early Childhood Outcomes Division
The Early Childhood Outcomes Division leads the delivery of the Early Years Commitment program, including comprehensive investments in the critical first 5 years of life for every child – in child development and in early education and care, making investments that support families and the community now, as well as investing in long term reforms for the future. Key initiatives will include supporting families with young children to access the services they need to support their own prosperity and wellbeing; valuing and growing the early childhood education and care sector and investing in early childhood teachers and educators.

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity within the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Directorate to help make a difference to the lives of children, families and communities NSW. We have 3 teams across UPK.
• Universal Pre-Kindergarten Delivery;
• Universal Pre-Kindergarten Design; and
• Centre for Excellence in Early Childhood Quality and Transitions.
Centre for Excellence in Early Childhood Quality and Transitions
The Centre for Excellence enables quality outcomes for children, families and communities by empowering early childhood teachers and educators to embed research and evidence-based concepts in their pedagogy and practice.
The Centre for Excellence is a multi-disciplinary team that designs and delivers programs, policies, initiatives, tools and resources to support Early Childhood practice excellence recognising the importance of the early years and is focused on supporting the provision of high-quality early childhood education and care to all children and families in NSW.

About You
We’re looking for passionate and driven team players from all walks of life from the private, public and not-for-profit sectors to join a forward-thinking team committed to delivering early childhood outcomes. It is critical that we build a team that is as diverse as the community we serve, and we encourage people with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
• people with an Early childhood background and/or program/project management skills and experience
• collaborative and partnership and communication skills
• support the research, analysis and review of complex policy and service issues, identifying emerging issues, supporting the development of evidence-based options, and recommended solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks
• build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, facilitating their engagement in, and contribution to, the identification and development of policy solutions and to inform policy decision making
• prepare correspondence, written reports, publications, and briefs, that are informative and aligned with agency requirements, to respond to Agency and/or Government requests
Essential requirements of the role
• A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
• This role is targeted to the employment of an Aboriginal person and is authorised by the Department’s EEO Management Plan in accordance with Part 9A of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. When applying for an Aboriginal targeted position, applicants will be asked to provide confirmation of Aboriginality as defined in the Confirmation of Aboriginality Guidelines.
