The Role:

The role forms part of the Infrastructure Services Team, responsible for defining and managing the hosting environment for Transmax’s products and services.

The role will work closely with the Service Desk and Application Support teams to maintain operational environments (managed services focus) and augment the environments through continuous improvement and project initiatives.

Day to day:

• Manage incidents and problems relating to the infrastructure that supports Transmax’s Managed Services Agreements.
• Assist with the implementation and migration of a range of on-prem and cloud hosted services between platforms.
• Identify and Action key improvements to team and group accountabilities including security processes and threat response strategies.
• Assist with the development and improvement of documentation, processes, and procedures & the development of tender/bid responses.
• Assist with the delivery of projects and the development and improvement of standards, processes, procedures and guidelines for project delivery.
• Assist with the management of Infrastructure Services products (both on-sold hardware and software) including evaluation, selection, monitoring performance and managing vendor warranty support renewals.

Requirements:

• 3+ years’ experience in systems administration for VMWare/vSphere/AWS virtual infrastructure (including installation, configuration and management).
• Proven experience working in design, planning, coordination, configuration, installation and management of virtualisation, server, storage infrastructure.
• Experience in on-prem and public cloud hosted architectures, cloud infrastructure, data networking and platforms.
• Experience in Windows and Linux environments. Proven Linux administration experience is required.
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Elasticsearch or equivalent. (Desirable)
• Familiarity with Windows Server, MS SQL.
• Solid experience in monitoring/alerting solutions (eg Nagios).
• Strong understanding of AD and authentication protocols.
• Experience with VEEAM (or equivalent) backup technology and best practice backup management.
• Good understanding of network infrastructure and protocols (DHCP, DNS).
