We’re on the lookout for a Digital Product Manager who will be responsible for the digital product strategy and roadmap for our Digital Order Capture capability . Reporting to the Director of Digital Product Management – Prospect to Order Domain, the Digital Product Manager will be responsible for defining and delivering digital product strategy and roadmap. This includes a focus on end to end customer experience, enabled by the right platforms and solution architecture, across web, mobile, contact centres and retail stores.

To succeed in this role, you will be a dedicated servant leader with a strategic growth mindset, commercially passionate about making the right decisions for the customer, with thoughtful consideration of technical constraints and possibilities. ‘Soft’ skills associated with strong communication and negotiation, stakeholder management and emotional leadership with digital squads are essential to this role as well. Being data driven around priorities and decision points are also a must have.

You will contribute to our overall Optus eCommerce strategy and roadmap that will see simple, personalised, digital led purchase journeys enabled across all our customer touchpoints.

Typical activities within this role will include:

  • Strategy: Working with other Product Managers across multiple channels to find opportunities and benefits for new strategic digital ecommerce initiatives that will make up the overall product development and lifecycle roadmap
  • Commercial: Continuously find opportunities and benefits to form and refine Optus’ digital strategy. Ownership of business cases for new digital technologies will be needed to grow our ability to engage and win new customers.
  • Customer insights and analytics: Understanding key trends from market, from digital behaviour, performance analytics and experimentation results to resolve roadmap priorities
  •  Capacity Planning: Work closely with the AD of Insights and Planning to articulate requirements and required capacity from squads, IT and ePMO capacity. The intent is to continuously groom our capacity on a quarter by quarter basis, applying prioritisation methods that line up with key stakeholders and overall Optus value streams.
  • QBR and Roadmap: DPM’s would work with Product Owners to define and present Quarterly Business Reviews for eCommerce tribe in line with Digital COE timelines. Drive roadmap alignment between Product, Digital Capability Roadmap and the Digital Tribes
  •  Industry knowledge and growth: Remain at the forefront of evolving best-practices, trends, innovative technologies and connect with other Digital Product Managers in other industries to apply standard methodology and new value opportunities back into Optus.

    About you:
    • Degree qualified in Business or IT
    • Previous Experience as a Product Manager
    • Experience in Online/web related Channel.
    • Previous eCommerce and digital purchase experience – particularly in checkout & digital purchase optimisation. Previous experience in service or telecommunications industries is a plus.
    • Experience developing cases for investment justification in order to deliver against AOP targets
    • Current internet technologies, eCommerce and trends knowledge
    • Effective validation of IT solutions and identification of alternative solutions for the delivery of products to ensure Online requirements are met
    • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with key team members and customers
    • An appreciation of CX methodologies
    • Ability to identify and build efficient solutions that balance customer and market needs with what is realistic, at reasonable cost, in reasonable time and with available resources
    • High level Knowledge/skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, Power-point and other Optus specific systems.
    • Ability to manage scope, overcome obstacles, address issues and mitigate risks to ensure project success
    • Customer focused with a strong drive for achieving sales
    • Innovative and creative problem solver
    • Strong Analytical Abilities
    • Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops, track progress, resolve issues, assign responsibilities and maintain focus to keep on track
