Job Description
DFP Recruitment Perth are seeking the services of 2x ITS Project Coordination Support to work with our state government client who are responsible for the state’s road network. The position is initially until the until 08/09/2023 with possible extension. You will be working full time hours, Monday to Friday, as this is a casual contract, there are no leave entitlements, please advise your desired remuneration per hour + super if you are interested in the position.
As this is working with a major state government department, you do need to provide a police clearance, so please make sure you are willing and able to obtain a clean police clearance if you are offered an interview.
The position is located at Victoria Avenue, Perth.
Role Description
ITS Project Coordination Support
Co-ordinate and/or perform specialist development, design, end-to-end system testing and integration of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) applications and ITS roadside assets State-wide.
Required Skills, Knowledge, or Experience
ITS Specialist Testing and Integration
• Identify, develop and implement ITS solutions related to traffic systems operation State-wide managed by the client.
• Plan, document, co-ordinate, perform testing and integration activities in line with ITS design and the applicable standards for ITS field assets delivered by internal and external projects.
• Co-ordinate or perform technical troubleshooting, including capture and analysis of device and network communications, monitoring and programming of all components that are part of the ITS systems architecture.
• Monitor and revie performance of ITS assets and functionalities, including extracting and analysing data from control systems, assessing impact on operations, reporting performance to relevant stakeholders and management levels.
• Provide specialist advice in defining of improvement solutions for optimal ITS functionality and operations.
• Provide specialist advice in defining testing criteria for new ITS devices and functionalities in ITS test environment.
• Manage database of new and existing ITS assets that will be delivered or impacted by ITS projects as part of change management and co-ordination with all stakeholders.
ITS Expertise
• Provide specialist technical advice and expertise to ITS projects including ITS research, design, construction, testing and commissioning activities, in areas of electrical, electronics, telecommunications, Information Technology, software, interfaces, communications and civil components.
• Provide specialist technical expertise in the area of communications protocols for ITS devices.
• Provide specialist advice and perform the development and maintenance of standards and guidelines relating to ITS and network operations, including documentation, implementation and maintenance of standard testing and integration processes for all ITS field assets.
ESSENTIAL:
• Understanding of ITS including SMART Freeways
• Preparation of ITS design drawings
• Communication and Stakeholder engagement skills
DESIRABLE:
· Previous Project Management experience
· Previous experience in the preparation of policies and guidelines
