It Consultant – Data Security & Privacy

The Company

As a household name with a global presence, this organisation is one of our countries leading companies. The business is currently undergoing a major uplift of its entire technology framework, integrating a variety of new systems.

We are currently seeking an experienced Technology Consultant to lead the review of data privacy processes, policies, and management as part of this major systems implementation. As the Data & Privacy Manager for this critical initiative, you will be responsible for ensuring that the businesses privacy practices are aligned with the latest industry standards and that they are implementing the necessary controls to protect their customers’ data.

The Role

This is a 6-month temp role that will see you integrating best practice policy processes into a major systems implementation and will include the following key responsibilities:

• Lead the review of privacy policies, procedures, and data management practices across the organisation
• Perform privacy impact assessments
• Identify areas of risk and develop strategies to mitigate these risks
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement new policies and procedures
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders and senior management
• Coordinate with IT teams to ensure that privacy controls are integrated into the new systems implementation
• Manage the implementation of new privacy policies and procedures across the organisation
• Ensure that all privacy-related training and awareness programs are up-to-date and effectively communicated to employees
• Monitor and measure the effectiveness of the privacy program and report on key metrics to senior management

Reporting into the Head of Legal and Compliance the successful candidate must demonstrate previous experience in roles reviewing privacy policies and data security with senior stakeholders.

Your Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT Law, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of project management experience within the technology space
• Previous experience in technical roles overhauling and implementing systems.
• Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR and APP
• Experience managing projects related to privacy, data management, or information security
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
