The Position

St John of God Murdoch Hospital has an excellent reputation, benefits from being located in the fastest growing area of Perth and is conveniently positioned next door to the State’s flagship Fiona Stanley Hospital.

We are currently seeking an Orthopaedic Research Officer to join our team, As Orthopaedic Research Officer, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day management of investigator-led research and industry-sponsored clinical trials in Orthopaedic Surgery at SJGHC Murdoch Hospital.

This position is being offered on a 2-year, fixed-term basis working 45 hours per fortnight.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A willingness and capacity to embrace the Mission and Values of St John of God Health Care
  • Undergraduate degree relevant to healthcare research
  • Previous experience in hospital-based clinical research
  • Experience in the day-to-day management of medical research projects and/or clinical trials
  • Working knowledge of good clinical practice (GCP) in research, and experience with related ethical approval processes
  • Previous experience in preparation of research outcomes for conference presentations and journal publications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Knowledge of research design and experience writing research protocols (desirable)
  • Experience in orthopaedic clinical practice and/or research (desirable)
  • Experience with electronic data management systems eg. REDCap (desirable)
  • A working knowledge of statistical software packages (desirable)
