About the Role:

We currently have multiple positions for Chef’s and experienced Cooks to join our team for an exciting opportunity of Fly in Fly out (FiFo) or Drive in Drive out (DiDo) positions on our remote Oil and Gas mining camps and villages. Ventia’s Cooks pride themself of creating hearty catering services to all field-based staff on our remote mobile camps and villages to provide a home away from home in remote and diverse country across Queensland.

Our FiFo Mobile Camps roles allows you to work independently in the kitchen catering for approximately 35 field staff and report directly to the Camp Manager. 

Our Villages roles are based in either Dalby, Chinchilla, or Dysart for the DiDo roles. These roles will allow you to work within a team providing buffet-style catering for 200+ staff.

All accommodation and meals are provided to you while on shift.

Duties:

Provide high quality, nutritious food to our employees & clients

Manage and run the kitchen autonomously or jointly within a small team

Cooking, food prep, cleaning of the kitchen & assisting with ordering

Strict adherence to all HSE policies, procedures & safe food handling practices

Contribute with a high level of customer service
 

Skills & Experience:

Previous experience cooking a variety of different dishes, for large volumes.

Qualifications in commercial cookery or similar are advantageous, but not essential.

Food safety awareness

Ability to work autonomously with strong time management skills

Open Manual Drivers Licence (car or higher) desired 

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol test

Flexible availability (including night shifts) with ability to work away from home
