Caterpillar is seeking 2 x Site Technology Manager to oversee an AHS (Autonomous Hauling Solution) mine site and drive customer engagement, maximize the “as designed” productivity and safety, while utilizing MineStar Technology products.
This position will optimize the as delivered performance of their Caterpillar Technology Products through effective collaboration with internal Product Support Specialists, Dealer, and Customer.
The role will lead a team of MineStar Application and Onboard Specialists with Product Support teams to ensure robust technology solutions for our customers.
The role will be accountable for all technology deployments and operations on their customer mine site. The incumbent will be the customer’s primary point of contact and escalation to ensure effectiveness of Caterpillar Technology Products.
Job Duties include but not limited to:
The Site Technology Manager will be accountable for operational and strategic management while leveraging other Product Support Technology Teams to maintain and improve the performance of Caterpillar Technology Products deployed at their mine site. You will optimize system performance by ensuring key system and productivity performance indicators are met.
Key responsibilities for the Site Technology Manager include:
As the Minestar Site Manager you will have accountability for;
Initial primary contact at an assigned Mine Site for all MineStar initiated productivity and safety activities.
Ensuring safe operation of AHS on their assigned mine site.
Work with customers to monitor overall AHS performance and safe operation.
Responsibility for notify MineStar Product Support of any suspected product defects. Work collaboratively with MineStar Product Support to define Interim Corrective Actions that mitigate the impact of AHS product performance issues.
Build and lead a team of site-based employees across application and operation roles.
Be the first point of contact relating to employee personnel issues, performance evaluations, career development planning, required compliance learning and training of subordinates to ensure staff expertise.
Maintain key site-specific performance metrics including AHS technology availability, production metrics, operating cost per tonne, AHS fleet productivity and safety.
Participating in annual IP audits.
Achieve departmental budget in-line with the Rolling Business Management.
Accountable for timely (< 30 days) reporting of MineStar provided services to MineStar Business Resources for billing purposes.
Create and periodic review of the Health & Safety Management Plan that drives a safety culture at their assigned mine site.
Ensure compliance with all Caterpillar and MineStar policies and procedures.
Communicate all significant AHS related incidents to Caterpillar management as required based on the MineStar Significant Incident Playbook.
Participate in safety inquiries, safety meetings, and site safety programs as required by: Caterpillar, Local Regulation, or Customer.
Participate in workplace AHS related inspections as required.
Coordination of site MineStar activities for MineStar’s Customer Improvement projects.
Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining, or a related field.
Relevant experience in the Construction, Automation, Mining Industry or Machine Technology.
Experience in project management.
People management experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required to deal with sensitive issues, develop others, or persuade others inside and outside the business unit and Caterpillar to take specific actions.
