Junior Machine Learning Developers – Adelaide

We are currently seeking Junior Machine Learning Developers to join our Visual Effects studio in Adelaide, Australia.
  
Employment periods: Long term contract.
Location: Adelaide, Australia. Open to Australian and international applicants.
  
Position Overview

Reporting to the Research and Development Supervisor, you will work collaboratively with other machine learning developers to perform data processing and labelling tasks, run existing machine learning capabilities and assist in delivering machine learning outputs to downstream departments.
  
You are a great communicator who is able to discuss and gain an understanding of current capabilities and workflows. You have strong problems solving skills and are able to identify and collaborate on machine learning solutions to enhance the department’s outputs. You have excellent time management skills and are a forward thinker who can deliver solutions to schedule and to brief.
  
Knowledge in the use and application of TensorFlow and/or PyTorch is important when considering this role.
  
As this role grows, it is expected that you will contribute to other machine learning research and capability expansion. In order to be successful in this, you will be required to maintain knowledge of current state of machine learning based approaches and to work collaboratively with staff across many disciplines including the research team, software development team and artistic departments.
  
Responsibilities

• Run and contribute to data processing tasks that enable machine learning capabilities.
• Create and deliver machine learning software and workflows that meet creative and/or technical objectives, while always maintaining appropriate standards and best practices.
• Maintain knowledge of current state of machine learning based approaches and technology.
• Improve the integration of the machine learning capabilities within the studio.
• Appropriately design, implement, maintain, test and document all applications, utilities or components developed.
• Own machine learning projects as assigned or agreed to by your manager.
• Drive projects you are responsible for towards completion.
• Proactively follow up on outstanding items, changing requirements and blockers to ensure that constant progress is made.  

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience in development and execution of Machine Learning capabilities.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and toolsets such as TensorFlow and/or PyTorch.
• Good knowledge of python software development.
• Great organisational skills, maintaining a calm and professional demeanour in a delivery focused work environment.
• Technical and creative problem solving with a can-do mindset.
