Job Description
Leidos has an opportunity available for an IT Support Engineer to join our high performing Command, Control, Communications & Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) line of business, working on an exciting, nationally significant, and highly visible federal government customer based in Melbourne. The project is focussed on developing the data processing platform that drives one of the most visited websites in Australia. The role is primarily focused on providing day to day operational support of the data platform (incident management, patching, software updates etc), as part of the ‘run and sustainment’ phase and building out the associated processes and documentation to support this endeavour ongoing. Individuals whom are also able to contribute broadly across the software development lifecycle where required, including but not limited to: agile software development; DevOps; Data Integration; Release Management; Software Management; Sustainment; and Database administration will be highly regarded.
The successful candidate(s) will have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, excellent communication skills, and a desire to tackle complex problems in a unique environment.
Qualifications
- Significant hands on experience in providing operational support and troubleshooting (Level 2/3) of software solutions;
- Being comfortable with maintaining a range of relevant technologies including but not limited to: Anisble, Java, NiFi, Spring, Python, PostgreSQL;
- Familiarity with whole of systems monitoring tools such as ELK and Zenoss;
- Being familiar with a range of relevant technical domains including but not limited to: geospatial technologies; data management; cloud technologies;
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and the ability to participate in these (incident, problem, change and event management);
- Strong documentation skills and the ability to establish and capture relevant processes, work instructions and SOP’s;
- Experience working and collaborating in a multi-vendor environment with good stakeholder management skills;
- Willingness to participate in a 24/7 on call roster where required;
- Ability to provide advice on technical aspects of systems (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly;
- Experience in DevSecOps approaches to software development;
- Experience within an agile development team will be very useful;
- Hand-on experience in working with established software development tool-chains including but not limited to configuration management tools, artefact management tools, code quality and security analysis tools, automated testing tools, integrated software development environments, continuous integration tools, collaboration tools, and software and architecture modelling tools.
- A strong level of familiarity with software development lifecycles;
- Comfort in managing ambiguity and making decisions even where information is incomplete or unclear;
- A strong desire to tackle and solve problems, including problems that are challenging and complex;
- Highly effective in managing multiple, concurrent activities, while understanding and managing priorities, dependencies and risk; and
- Most importantly you have a positive mindset with equal parts curious and collaborative, you take initiative and ownership.
Additional Information
This role does require the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and have or be willing to obtain a Baseline security clearance.
