    The Strategic Priorities directorate provides high level strategic advice in the coordination of policy, programs and initiatives across the Education and Skills portfolio – including Careers NSW, Closing the Gap, Tertiary Pathways and the departments Reconciliation Action Plan. This ensures the effective delivery of new, emerging and critical work streams and achievement of departmental priorities.

    Careers NSW is a program announced by the Premier of NSW in March 2021 and is designed to provide career guidance and advice to all NSW residents at any stage in their career.

    Careers NSW provides a wraparound service to:

  • Provide tailored career guidance
  • Identify educational pathways and qualifications that match clients to the skills they need to enter or progress in their career
  • Connect clients with Industry Experts currently employed in the industries they are looking to enter and can provide insight into the skills clients will need to succeed.

    About the role

    The Web and Content Officer undertakes a range of Web and Content functions to support the Careers NSW Team’s activities to contribute to the development and delivery of a range of projects in line with established objectives.

    The role will produce and implement high-quality written and rich media content for broad appeal and consumption across Careers NSW channels. It will deliver best practice web content and communications for Careers NSW with the support of internal communications and engagement team.

    The role will leverage extensive business unit knowledge to support the Careers NSW team and program of work and facilitate the delivery of business operations.

    The position works closely with the Manager, Product and Digital Content to provide high-quality online assets for Careers NSW.

    Essential requirements of the role

  • Key knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s and upholding the and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 Accessibility requirements
  • Knowledge of content management systems with Adobe Experience Manager experience and knowledge preferred.

    The ideal candidate will be keen to share their expertise and knowledge in web and content development and have an eagerness to work through any challenges to ensure the Careers NSW web and content meets requirements and engages service users.
