What you'll do

Be responsible for leading DTA’s FinOps team, identifying and delivering tools and services that reduce cost and support multi-functional products and infrastructure across the Data Hub and the wider business.

You will work with the Head of Platform Engineering and your peers on setting strategy and roadmaps where you will lead your team to resolve complex business cost and performance challenges in a cloud environment. You will have in-depth knowledge of capacity and performance management and the ability to delve deep into technical subjects and translate these into a format for Director and Executive level consumption. You will also have a consistent record of successfully leading a hard-working technical team of multidisciplinary engineers.

• Develop and implement a strategy for driving cost reduction across what Sky Data build.

• Work closely with our vendors to ensure we are optimising for cost based on products/capabilities and continue to evolve our strategy in these areas.

• Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

• Grow and develop an impactful, multi-skilled and multi-disciplined team capable of completing our strategy.

• Work with internal colleagues and Collaborators to track cost optimisations and drivers so these can be used to supervise budgets and forecasts.

• Develop and implement processes for managing the FinOps function and creating a cost awareness culture within Sky Data.

What you'll bring

• Experience in building or leading a successful team, creating roadmaps and completing strategy.

• Track record of innovating to solve complex and unique business challenges.

• Experience of working with collaborators to share best practices and drive adoption across multiple teams and disciplines.

• Ability to look holistically at new technologies and work with vendors and partners on the best approach for efficient use.

• Experience in condensing information from different sources and tailoring that information to the audience.

Your office space – Osterley

Our Osterley Campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Gunnersbury, Ealing Broadway and South Ealing tube stations. There are also plenty of bike shelters and showers.
