Field / Laboratory Technician at SGS (Shepparton, VIC)

Job Description

As a Field and Laboratory Technician based in Shepparton VIC., you will maintain customer focus and compliance whilst performing various environmental sampling and analysis tasks in the field and laboratory environments.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

To represent SGS on site and on client visits.

To provide a sample pick up and drop off service to SGS key clients.

Sample bottle preparation and assist sample receipt on Shepparton site.

Perform laboratory analysis as per SGS methods and procedures.

To perform sampling, analysis and reporting to relevant standards and as per client requirements.

Perform QC checks, calibrations on field instruments and take action accordingly.

Act on opportunities to add value for customers by promoting SGS services.

Record all information obtained in a legible and concise manner.

Review, monitor and ensure reports are completed as per the due date.

Perform risk assessments.

Attend client meetings to discuss SGS performance and KPI compliance.

Perform internal audits.

Qualifications

Qualifications in Environmental or Microbiology fields.

Previous experience in a laboratory environment or field sampling role (desirable).

Able to comprehend and provide feedback on technical issues.

Valid Victorian full driver’s license.

Understanding of measurement and testing techniques related to environmental field sampling.
