Laboratory Technician – Microbiology at SGS (Notting Hill, VIC)

Job Description

As a Laboratory Technician -Microbiology, based in Notting Hill, Melbourne, your main responsibilities are to undertake microbiological analyse of water and a wide variety of environmental samples.

Your key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:

Perform and be responsible for the analysis of water and environmental samples in the microbiological section.

Assist in ensuring the laboratory maintains accreditation/certification in microbiological testing and sampling.

Participate in in-house and external proficiency programs. Follow QA procedures.

Actively participate in those activities prescribed by NATA such as calibrations and internal audits.

Assist management in promoting a safe working environment

Perform other duties as directed by the Laboratory Manager.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role your skills and attributes should include:

TAFE or Tertiary qualifications relevant to Microbiology highly desirable.

Understanding of evolving nature of the workplace, with a willingness to continually adapt and improve job skills and knowledge

Availability to work weekends and public holidays (may be required from time to time) as the Microbiological section operates every day of the year.
