About ABC Audiences Team
ABC Audiences is made up of a passionate group of marketing, brand, creative, audience experience, UX and audience insights specialists who have audiences at the heart of all they do. They’re responsible for leading the ABC’s brand and audience strategies, acquiring and engaging audiences both within our broadcast and digital ecosystems and working collaboratively with partner divisions to lead an integrated approach to audience insights, branding, acquisition and retention strategies, and communication.
About the Role
An exciting new role is available for a News Product Analyst to lead the discovery and delivery of data-informed insights & growth opportunities for digital product teams. This contract role will provide detailed analysis of product and user behaviour data, optimisation, experimentation activities, and ongoing reporting on metrics. The goal is to provide meaningful information and insights to drive data-informed product & content strategy, and highlight opportunities for audience growth.
Sitting with the Audiences Data and Insights team, you will be a dedicated resource for Digital Product and will work closely with the Senior Product Manager in Digital Product. You will:
- Maintain a high level of awareness and understanding of audience experience, identify and fill very complex product analysis gaps and generate new ideas that grow audience reach, improve audience experience and drive digital growth
- Undertake very complex data analysis, segmentation, and reporting on product performance to support delivery of business outcomes.
- Provide high level support to the News Product team in A/B testing and experimentation design, analysis and reporting on results
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and build strategic working relationships. Leverage existing audience insights, whilst contributing to broader audience research activities where applicable
About You
The role requires substantial skills, knowledge and experience in digital product, analytics, search optimisation, audience research or related fields. You have a deep understanding of customer-focused data and segmentation and can confidently straddle technical work and concepts and be able to strategically analyse very complex data. You can expect to drive deeper insights on product experience from a variety of data sources.
Ideally you will have a background in Media, Tech or Research and have the capacity to communicate at a sophisticated level to explain information effectively to a wide array of people. In order to match the high performance of the team, you will have extensive experience in proposing, designing & delivering relevant data analysis projects and insights that are highly relevant to audience needs and digital product outcomes. Excellent communication skills and capacity to build strategic working relationships with internal and external stakeholders are key to the success of the role. You will also have:
- Extensive experience with enterprise data and business intelligence tools such as Google Analytics 360, Big Query, SnowPlow, Microsoft Power BI or Adobe Analytics.
- Highly advanced ability writing SQL, using Big Query, Python or other analytics software
- Highly advanced technical, analytical, planning, and organisational skills, with the ability to effectively present, create visualisations with and report on data analytics and analysis outcomes
