Infrastructure Project Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Project Manager for a 6 month contract role in the Melbourne Western Suburbs. Projects covering End of Life Infrastructure. Upgrades across network switches, routers, Virtual Switching System Pairs and a few other ad-hoc Infrastructure projects.

A Project Manager is responsible for planning, overseeing and leading projects from ideation through to completion. This is a senior role at an organisation and requires interaction with a range of internal and external stakeholders, most often managing several moving project parts simultaneously.

• At least Australian Permanent Residence working rights,
• At least 5+ year’s relevant local working experience, and
• Project Management qualifications mandatory (Prince2, PMBOK, PMP, AIPM, CPPP.

Overall Purpose of Role:

The role of the Technology Infrastructure Project Manager focuses on completing a project as efficiently and promptly as possible including:

• Leading project planning sessions
• Coordinating staff and internal resources
• Managing project progress and adapt work as required
• Ensuring projects meet deadlines
• Managing project financials
• Managing relationships with clients, vendors and stakeholders
• Overseeing all incoming and outgoing project documentation
• Participating in tender process i.e. design, submission and review if applicable
• Designing risk mitigation plan
• Conducting project review and creating detailed reports for executive staff
• Optimising and improving processes and the overall approach where necessary
• Managing large and diverse teams

Experience Required

• Project Management qualifications mandatory (Prince2, PMBOK, PMP, AIPM, CPPP)
• Five or more years experience of Technology Infrastructure Project Management within complex organisations (Tier 1 or 2)
• Experience in standing-up or upgrading Communications Rooms, Data Centres or other relevant infrastructure
• Experience in managing vendors as part of the projects delivery

Reporting

• Report on the initiative progress within program of work against delivery, quality, cost and time commitments
• Implement, monitor and report on project activities including milestone delivery, resource allocation, issue management, risk management and mitigation
• Consolidating the teams initiatives and reporting progress to key stakeholders
