Our client is seeking a  Network Engineer  to work within their end-user facilities in Perth WA.

The Company

A major service provider who has a portfolio of numerous projects in Australia. With a number of projects currently underway, our client is looking for a qualified Network Engineer to join the team.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer where you will be responsible for providing high quality IT services for the end-user.

This position will based in Perth WA.

The Individual

From a technical perspective you will be expected to:

Design, plan, and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.

Configure and maintain network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, and network management tools.

Monitor and maintain network performance and availability, and troubleshoot network issues as needed.

Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.

Conduct regular network assessments and implement changes to optimize network performance and security.

Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and technologies, including cloud-based services and applications.

Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and trends, and recommend new solutions to enhance our network infrastructure.

Develop and maintain network documentation and procedures, and provide training to other IT staff as needed.

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.

Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing and switching, and wireless networks.

Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.

Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and develop effective solutions.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP or Network+ are a plus.
