Our client is seeking a  Network Engineer  to work within their end-user facilities in Perth WA.

The Company

A major service provider who has a portfolio of numerous projects in Australia. With a number of projects currently underway, our client is looking for a qualified Network Engineer to join the team.

The Role

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer where you will be responsible for providing high quality IT services for the end-user.

This position will based in Perth WA.

The Individual

From a technical perspective you will be expected to:

  • Design, plan, and implement network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Configure and maintain network hardware and software, including switches, routers, firewalls, and network management tools.
  • Monitor and maintain network performance and availability, and troubleshoot network issues as needed.
  • Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.
  • Conduct regular network assessments and implement changes to optimize network performance and security.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to integrate network infrastructure with other systems and technologies, including cloud-based services and applications.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and trends, and recommend new solutions to enhance our network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation and procedures, and provide training to other IT staff as needed.
  • Required and Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
  • Strong knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, routing and switching, and wireless networks.
  • Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and other security technologies.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, or Zabbix.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex network issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CCNP or Network+ are a plus.
  • Candidates must be based in Perth and possess full Australian working rights to be considered for this position.
