This role sit within our Technical Division which is responsible for pricing, portfolio management and underwriting services. We support the distribution functions through the improvement of the product and pricing framework for all of the Allianz General Insurance portfolios.

We are seeking a Product Manager to collaboratively assist the product and portfolio teams to define the business strategy through customer lead insights and to support the delivery of projects and initiatives that focus on simplifying the customer journey and outsmarting the competition. We would be open to offering this role as a permanent role or as a 12 month secondment.

You’ll be expected to:

• Lead on the delivery of projects and initiatives that focus on improving customer outcomes including retention, NPS scores, front-line education and digital customer journey improvements.
• Support the development of customer segment strategy, incorporating insights from market, competitor/ customer research. 
• Incorporate the breadth of internal & external market and customer data and analytics to drive the portfolio strategy.
• Develop and implement regular monitoring and benchmarking of market and competitor activities and develop insights to inform the strategy development.
• Support the product teams with the development of new products or changes to products as informed by analysis, market and customer research and share these insights with the broader Consumer team.
• Contribute to the development of the Customer Value Proposition, working enterprise-wide to prioritise portfolio projects and initiatives according to customer segment strategy.
• Obtain and collate customer research and feedback and work with the product teams to ensure that our products deliver sustainable customer-centric outcomes.
• Contribute insights and ideas as the Technical SME across enterprise-wide initiatives and identify emerging risks and opportunities relating to the Consumer products and portfolios.

Important to your success:

• Experience working within a product/ portfolio management role within a General Insurance organisation.
• Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and/ or industry recognised accreditation.
• Proven analytical and critical thinking abilities to evaluate complex alternatives, make confident judgements and develop innovative, sophisticated solutions.
• Experience in managing consumer insurance products.
• Experience working with internal and external data, and analytical tools such as Excel, SAS, SQL or Python.
• Highly developed consulting and influencing skills, demonstrating the ability to co-create strategy and valuable analytical solutions with key business stakeholders
• Demonstrates in-depth understanding of strategy development and is able to work with multiple teams to align department strategy with organisational vision, translating vision to action to achieve desired results.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating with audiences at all levels with clarity, impact and influence.

Whilst this role would ideally be performed out of the Sydney Head Office, there is scope for the right person to be located elsewhere.
