Bring your exceptional communication skills to Deakin University’s specialist research and innovation communications team and help us to promote Deakin’s impactful research to the world.

Reporting to the Content Manager and working alongside colleagues in the Deakin Research Marketing and Communications team, the Senior Communications Officer works with internal and external stakeholders across Deakin to plan, develop and implement communications strategies, and content to promote Deakin’s exciting and progressive research and innovation projects, and build Deakin’s research reputation.

The Senior Communications Officer will be responsible for creating interesting and impactful content for both internal and external audiences. If you are great at managing your time, producing content for multiple internal and external channels and have a knack for synthesising complex information in to clear, concise and creative content, we’d love to hear from you.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Generating and delivering creative content strategies and plans for communication and engagement for internal and external audiences.
• Supporting the development and implementation of the Research content strategy.
• Creating assets and copy for a range of audiences on diverse channels.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Degree, and or relevant experience in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations or similar discipline.
• Ability to write content for a range of audiences, tailored to various channels including socials, intranet and web.
• Experience in managing multiple communications projects and priorities simultaneously.
