Overview of the Branch and Section:
Do you want to be part of a team pursuing excellence in the delivery of relevant, professional, innovative, and globally benchmarked Operational Safety Training (OST)?
The ABF College forms part of Strategy and Capability Command and has been established to deliver the Australian Border Force (ABF) with a governance and policy framework for equipping officers in the exercise of their statutory powers and training them with the relevant and approved skills and equipment to undertake their duties. The branch is a key enabler in ensuring the operational workforce is ready to meet the challenges of the ABF’s current and future operating environment.
The Operational Safety Training Unit (OSTU) delivers operational safety/use of force (UoF) training programs to Border Force Officers. It designs, develops, implements, reviews and administers the OST curriculum under the ABF College policy framework with endorsement from the Operational Safety Committee.
About the role:
The position of Support Officer in the OST Support Team, is an operational support and administration position. The holder of the role works under limited direction, exercising a degree of independence.
Specifically, the role contributes to the scheduling, management and administration of OST courses and programs through consultation with OSTU colleagues and regional stakeholders. This ensures planning and delivery align with the ABF’s operational needs and best practices, while linking with legislative requirements as well as policy and governance.

Specific duties/responsibilities:

Input of all UoF Permit extension requests into AssetDNA and the Learning Management System (LMS), as required

Panel all OST courses in LMS pre-course

Manage panel changes of students on the Course Panel and in LMS

Comply with records management policy and guidelines and apply those skills in the OST environment, including TRIM, AssetDNA and LMS

Liaise with ABF Health & Fitness Support to ensure all course participants have met pre-requisite requirements

Eligibility and Specific Conditions of Employment
