The Company
Our client is a premium end manufacturer of high-quality, professionally crafted food products made with the freshest locally sourced ingredients. They provide to the Foodservice and Catering industry and have an excellent reputation among leading chefs and prestigious food venues.
The business is well established, operating for over 30 years with their local offices situated in the Inner West Sydney area and, as a mid-sized business, they are now experiencing rapid growth.

The Role
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the State Sales Manager will directly manage two Account Managers to help develop and deliver on state quarterly territory plans across Victoria and Tasmania and present and sell the company’s products to current and prospective customers, including food service distributors, chefs, venue owners, cafes and restaurants.
You will demonstrate a value-add sales approach, educating customers both in the field and at trade fairs & exhibitions. You will sell the unique ingredient properties of each product and share the brand identity vision with your market.
Predominantly you will be looking after a Melbourne metro-based territory, with travel across the wider Victorian region as well as infrequent travel to Tasmania.
You will review customer performance as well as coordinate promotional activity in conjunction with the National Sales Manager, and the Marketing department. Attending trade fairs with the Technical food team.
This role will suit a true ‘foodie’, someone who appreciates a leading, premium brand, locally sourced ingredients and what goes into high-end produce. Someone who is passionate about quality and not just volume sales and price-based conversations.

Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will have high EQ awareness and be able to present professionally to key stakeholders both internally & externally. 
You will have great communication skills and the ability to help influence decisions and negotiations. 
Working with Chefs and other food service decision-makers will be critical to success in this role so having an understanding and working knowledge of those would be highly valuable. 
Our client is looking for someone with previous leadership experience in the Food Service arena with a good contact list within Food Service distributors and end-user groups.
