Maintenance Manager
As a Maintenance Manager, The role plays a key role in supporting site EHS and Site compliance through safe systems of work and monitoring of equipment calibration, routine inspections and measurement of performance standards, and will report to Site Manafacturing Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and implement Safe work practices within the area team and work cell Ensure Plant maintenance is conducted within Company and statutory Environment, Health and Safety regulations and other accreditations within the PPG Guidelines. Implement and audit procedures and take corrective actions as necessary to minimise work related injuries, illnesses, exposures, losses of containment and unusual incidents Drive and monitor equipment performance to achieve production targets implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve operational performance and reliability Act as the asset management lead on site· Ensure the production outputs meet or exceed targets on a daily, weekly, monthly and annual basis.· Ensure plant is managed in a cost effective and efficient manner while working to a budget. · Continually improve productivity and operational efficiency by minimizing waste, overtime and aids to manufacture to reduce unit costs on site. Continually improve productivity and operational efficiency by minimizing waste, overtime and aids to manufacture to reduce unit costs Effectively manage labor, overtime and the use of contractors within budget Manage metrics include: Spare parts , Stock Availability, Forecast Accuracy, Inventory accuracy Ensure compliance against PPG financial procedures Sustain and manage a strong performance culture in manufacturing with all levels of employees through communication processes, skill gap analysis and effective training solutions. Establish and maintain a close working relationship with Manufacturing, Engineering Department, EH&S, Supply Chain and Technical departments Build and develop relationships key customers including the Supply Chain group to deliver consistent quantity. Assist internal and external customers to meet required quality and cost targets by ensuring the effective performance and quality of PPG resins Develop and maintain an environment that allows employees to contribute to business objectives by managing standards of behaviors and performance within the work teams. Qualifications
Chemical or engineering based tertiary qualifications and at least 5 years manufacturing experience or substantial relevant manufacturing experience managing people. Knowledge of modern paint and resin technologies and processes Knowledge of engineering and plant reliability processes Demonstrated Leadership Understanding and experience using best practice manufacturing techniques such as Lean and Sigma.
