Cloud Infrastructure Engineer/devops Engineer

Are you a qualified Cloud or DevOps Engineer with AWS experience?

The Infrastructure team is responsible for building and running the ecosystem that delivers services to all of our customers internally and externally. The Infrastructure team is responsible for managing cloud hosting services, physical infrastructure and desktop and AV assets, including some corporate applications. The Cloud team is responsible for the cloud strategy, policies, maintenance and governance and therefore ensuring training and compliance to ensure cloud service integrity. They are also responsible for ensuring, as part of the DevOps Process, that changes are fit for purpose to ensure cloud integrity and good Cloud maintenance practices

What you’ll be doing

• Lead a Centre of Excellence in Infrastructure to drive improvements for better performance, security, transparency and operational efficiency.
• Lead and drive the Cloud Infrastructure (Scalable Platforms) program of work ensuring alignment to Cloud Strategy and delivers objectives to time, cost and quality
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services-from inception and design through deployment, operation and refinement.
• Articulate and escalate risks and issues, provide recommended solutions to problems and implement;
• Explore and evaluate new technologies and solutions to push our capabilities forward
• Document strategies, policies, procedures, configuration changes and guidelines
• Support the Security Program of Work to ensure Cloud Strategy alignment and to complete tasks in a timely manner to quality standards as require
• Maintain cloud services by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health
• Ensure that Cloud maintenance tasks are completed within required timeframe
• Review DevOps infrastructure changes, including but not limited to, (design reviews, change reviews, launch reviews, error and alert handling) to ensure Cloud integrity and good Cloud change management practice

Who you are

• Degree in IT/Software Engineering or similar, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years experience in Cloud management, specifically 2+ years with AWS Cloud management experience and/or 2+ years with GCP Cloud management experience
• Experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
• Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills which you can quickly draw on in unfamiliar situations
• Ability to lead a team and good resource management skill
