Job Description

As the Program Officer, Property Services , you will be providing industry expertise in the performance of property inspections on building assets across a diverse property portfolio.

The position also contributes to the development and implementation of maintenance and upgrade of asset management policies and strategies and programs that maintain and enhance the performance, value and utilisation of assets.

Conduct site inspections on new and existing assets in geographically dispersed locations and contribute to improved asset solutions, through the performance of quality assessments and property condition appraisals using the department’s data management systems.

You will do this by:
• Contributing to the development of asset management programs by providing advice on specific community needs and the workforce capacity of local Indigenous councils.

• Conducting audits and reviews on property condition data and condition appraisals as well as the processes and procedures associated with these tasks.

• Establishing and maintaining positive and effective relationships with stakeholders and customers through regional forums and joint operational meetings.

• Monitoring budget and delivery performance for a variety of social housing asset management programs including value for money assessment.

• Maintaining and updating departmental information systems with the ability to use a variety of software and data applications.

• Assisting and providing ongoing support to service areas and agencies in regard to overall property asset management functions.

• Participating in the review and evaluation of building products and systems that may benefit the department.

• Maintaining knowledge and understanding of cross cultural protocols and departmental policies to effectively and sensitively consult, negotiate and communicate with partners, stakeholders and customers.

• Preparing timely and well-research project documentation, briefings, reports, budgets, submissions, ministerial and departmental correspondence as required.

• Leading and ensuring you establish and maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day to day operations.

Mandatory requirements
• Possession of a current driver’s licence is required.

• Travel intrastate including locally and will include overnight stays in remote communities for up to three weeks in a row (home on weekends). Access to some communities will be via small aircraft where minimal personal luggage is a requirement.

• Have the ability to understand technical aspects of residential building works, plans, materials and building legislation and regulations.
