Reporting directly to the Head of Quality this role forms a critical position that will sit with a multi-site leadership team.
The Role
As the National Quality Manager you will oversee, lead and align the standards within VIC, NSW & QLD operations. Based in Melbourne’s Western-Suburbs, this role will form an integral part of the Quality Assurance leadership team accountable for ensuring high standards of Food Safety and Quality Assurance across 5 sites. The role will also require occasional travel to the Head Office based in Sydney.
It is the responsibility of the National Quality Manager to drive World-Class Quality standards, thinking and methods within the baking category. You will be able to demonstrate hands-on leadership and maturity that will drive a team of operationally based professionals at site levels and drive further leadership and overall quality strategy. You will train, mentor and develop the team in best practice and be the face of Quality Assurance at group level. This will be a highly autonomous, self-sufficient role.
The National Quality Manager will understand the importance of food safety behaviour and lead all site-based teams with an unwavering focus on quality. You will be required to lead by bringing technical process and analytical expertise to improve and maintain a shared Quality vision that is recognised by all staff, customers and competitors within the industry. This vision and strategy will align with a stronger customer focus, creating mutual value and excellence in operational processes. Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will develop and mentor the quality and manufacturing teams in order to initiate activities to develop and improve manufacturing and product quality standards. As the leader of a multi-site Quality Team, you will focus on Continuous Improvement and also be required to play a hands-on role in quality assurance operations for all sites.
As the National Quality Manager you will build upon, improve and maintain the centralised product quality system and framework in alignment with global quality practices and procedures. This robust system will include, but not be limited to, customer and regulatory audit management, product and material quality, food safety, specifications, sanitation, pest control, and compliance and implementation of internal and external quality standards (HACCP, GMP, WQA, BRC, CFMSR, YUM, GFSI, Halal, SQF etc.).
Skills & Experience

Tertiary qualified in Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology or similar
- Direct experience working within a medium to large scale food manufacturing plant, preferably in a high-risk product environment
- Ideally have a food-science or other technical manfcaturing background and will be widely recognised for your superior communication, leadership and influencing skills.
- Demonstrate a successful track record working in a hands-on multi-site Quality Leadership position.
- Ability to create strong cross-functional partnerships at site level in order to promote true collaboration.

Experienced and confident subject matter expert prepared to lead the team through challenging food safety and quality situations.

Be able to think outside of the box, be able to engage members and have strong initiative and ability to proritise tasks.
- You will display a can-do attitude, and have a genuine passion, energy and enthusiasm for business growth and excellence across the quality assurance function.
