Role

The Justice Officer – Administration works with the varied business units at the Justice Service Centre and provides accurate and timely administrative support services for the different business areas at the location. The role has a strong focus on service delivery to clients, internal and external stakeholders and into the public.

Administrative duties may include responding to over the counter enquiries from staff or from the general public, providing information and assistance with matters relating to DJCS portfolio, assisting with correspondence management ( Court documents / fines / Birth Deaths & Marriages submissions) and the maintenance of a range of electronic information and filing systems.

Dependent upon location, this position will require direct prisoner contact and may involve after hours, weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.

Some of your duties may include:

  • Provide administrative support and client services relevant to the location.
  • Provide information and assistance to clients, internal and external stakeholders and the public including the collation, review, and processing of applications.
  • Provide reception and telephone responses for the location.
  • Perform a range of financial duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, petty cash and banking.
  • About You

    As our ideal candidate, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience within an administrative capacity within a government department would be advantageous
  • Experience using a records management system (TRIM / HPE Records Manager)
  • Experience in managing reception duties.
  • Proactively identifying client needs providing options and referrals where appropriate
  • Assisting clients to navigate the linkages between the department’s range of services
